Sewing Project – Project Idea/Outline

The sewing project is one emergent projects of Masibambane that has shown a lot of potential and progress over a short space of time. The sewing project has been into place for almost 10 months now and is continuously developing. Through slim financing to the project we started the project in a small scale. This project enjoys the involvement of 10 women, who have shown an immense desire and willingness to learn. Infact, these women had not the fainted notion of how to operate a sewing machine, but today these women can operate a sewing machine with absolute ease.

Masibambane has taken immense efforts in order to bring at times the skills to, through skills transfer, in some instances having to send them to other institutions as far as Cape Town. Currently, they have good basis and knowledge of how to operate a sewing machine to do wonderful garments as well as other items.

We have approached other potential stakeholders and institutions to assist and support us to take these women to another level. In order to achieve this we have to ensure quality, good service, ongoing training as well as access to markets.

When we did our market research to find out the possible sustainability in the project; the results show a lot of growth potential. The only obstacle to the success of the project is shortage in the machinery, thus we write this Proposal for funding.
